Heather Dirck
Affiliation: National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC)
Heather attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she received both her Bachelor of Journalism and her Master of Arts in Strategic Communication. Her master’s thesis focused on international and governmental communication, leading her to live short-term in Brussels, Belgium to research the European Union. She tries to professionally link her interest in communication with her ever-optimistic aspirations to "change the world" through good government and non-profit organizations. She began working as the Community Relations Specialist for AmeriCorps NCCC's regional campus in Denver in early 2003. She has loved each year in this role working on media outreach, member recruitment, and special events planning. She also lives vicariously through each class of Corps Members, since she didn’t discover the program herself until she was too old! Heather grew up in Littleton, CO, is married, has a young son, and a middle-aged Golden Retriever.

Matt Martinez
Affiliation: Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado and AmeriCorps*NCCC Alum
I am a Colorado native which has fueled my passion for the outdoors. I was able to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder and will always be a Buff. One of the most defining experiences of my life has been working with diverse community based organizations and volunteers as a corps member in AmeriCorps*NCCC. I served in Class VII throughout the western region of the United States with people I will call close friends for the rest of my life. Upon completing my time with NCCC I sought out opportunities to continue service to my community and state which is how I stumbled upon Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado where I am currently a project manager. VOC is an environmental non-profit and our mission is to engage and inspire citizens of Colorado to become lifelong stewards of our natural resources. I have had the privilege to continue my relationship with AmeriCorps through my work at VOC and am excited to work with current corps members through my involvement with the ICC Senior Advisory Board.
